When we began our farm, we experimented with different breeds of poultry and different methods of raising birds. In our trials, we discovered that we can grow the same breeds of poultry grown in a commercial setting, but achieve a superior product by innovative management. The major difference between us and a typical commercial farm is that our birds are allowed to live a more natural life. They have access to fresh air, clean water, rain, wind, sun, bugs, grasses and dirt. Our birds wake up when the sun comes up and they go to sleep when the sun sets and only feed when they are hungry. We feed our birds a grain ration made in New Mexico by a small family owned mill. Our feed is then fermented on the farm and mixed in with beer grain given to us by a local Tucson brewery. This increases the production time but limits heath issues common in commercial farms and makes for a product that is night and day compared to the commercial counterpart.

We raise Cornish-cross hens. We chose this breed for a plump breast and meaty legs. Raised on pasture, these birds have a flavor and texture that will surpass commercially produced chicken.
A high yielding breast-to-carcass weight, The Pekin duck produces a tender deep red breast meat with a firm and flavorful fat cap.
Broad breasted turkeys are the classic Thanksgiving turkey with mild dark meat. This is an excellent choice for those who prefer breast meat.
